There is a saying in the quantum physics world, "When you change the way you look at things, the thing you look at changes!" The key words there are, change the way you look at things!
Events + Response = Outcome
For example, bad health + your response = your outcome! One person looks at their health and says, "It's horrible, I am to old, I have bad genes, I don't have the energy to exercise, I cant afford good food, it's terminal, etc". Are they going to get healthier or sicker? The other person says, "What a great opportunity to take responsibility for my life. If I don't like the result I am getting with my health I need to do something different."
Life is all about perception. If you see the good in everything, then everything is good! This week, see the good, come up with every way you can to see opportunity not failure. When something bad happens, say "what an amazing opportunity!" This little shift in thought when change the way you feel and move you into the direction of your dream practice and dream life!

When Do Children Need Adjustments?
That question would be best answered when we explore the cause of spinal problems. The most common problem is Vertebral Subluxation, which often occurs for the first time at birth. Research suggests that 80% of babies immediately following birth are subluxated because of the stress placed on their spines during the birth process.
So what effect does subluxation have at this early age? 90% of babies at this stage remain asymptomatic (no signs of problems). However, even though they may not be experiencing symptoms, they are not truly healthy. Remember that the nerve system supplies and coordinates the function of the whole body and that symptoms are usually only experienced much later in life. In fact, in many cases, by the time symptoms are present, the damage may well be permanent. After the age of 13, many abnormal spinal curves are as difficult to correct as they are in adults (and very often are not associated with symptoms).
If your child was one of the lucky ones to go through birth without subluxations, then research tells us that 98% of children will have subluxations before the age of 5. In fact, most of the subluxations that we have as adults were caused before the age of 5.

So, when should children have their spines checked for subluxation? As soon as they have a spine AND as soon as they can!
So, what are the benefits of having your children regularly checked for subluxation? First of all, it will ensure the spine and nerve system will remain healthy, keeping the child healthy. Second, it prevents their spines from degenerating prematurely. Third, it ensures a properly functioning organ system, which produces an improved immune system. This enhances the child’s resistance not only to sinus and allergy issues, but it also decreases the risk of developing cancer later in life (as shown by new research).
THE NERVE SYSTEM IS TOTALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE HEALTH OF THE WHOLE BODY!
All parts of the body have a nerve supply from the spine. Any interference to this will affect the health and vitality of the body. The sooner this interference is corrected, the better the body will be able to function.
In our practice, we have had the opportunity to correct many spinal subluxations in children before permanent damage has set in. We have seen abnormal spinal curves return to normal in young children and adults alike. We know it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for children to have the potential to be completely healthy for their entire lives.
If you haven’t already had your children’s spines checked for subluxation, please set up an appointment to do so this week. We are doing a "Back To School Extravaganza" this next week August 9th-13th we will be doing FREE exams, consults, and X-rays (if necessary) for kids and adults.
Chiropractic adjustments should begin as soon as there are subluxations. Since most subluxations occur at birth or during the years when our bodies are developing and growing, we should maintain our spines from birth on a regular basis throughout our lifetime. Doing this allows a child to have an excellent potential for complete health from early on in life.

Sneaky Exercising
I am fully aware of the challenges of fitting exercising into today’s insanely busy schedule. For most of us, gone are the days of leisure hours and no responsibilities. Life is demanding enough for families with both parents in residence. Children need the usual feeding and cleaning in addition to shuttling between dance and music lessons, scouting and organized sports. By the time everyone makes it home at the end of the day, there is homework and preparing for the next day before falling into bed. So when is there time to exercise?
Greta Garbo, movie star from the early days, loathed exercising and refused to go on a strenuous regimen when preparing for a movie. Instead, she tightened her tummy muscles when riding in her limousine. She practiced stretching and “movement” in her large bathtub. The result: she always looked fabulous!
Learn to maximize little snippets of time. Lots of adults with spouses, children, and full-time jobs also make it through college and graduate school by doing just that. A southern university professor was a married mother of twins and full-time stock broker when she earned her doctorate. When asked how she managed the feat, she said she made it through graduate school (twice) 15 minutes at a time.
Take a look at your schedule. What can you rearrange so you can squeeze in 15 or 20 minutes of exercise? If you have a job outside the home, try using half the lunch hour to take a brisk walk. If the weather isn’t comfortable enough, run in place or do a few minutes of step training. Surge training only takes 2 minutes. If you don’t have weights, simply grab a couple of 20 ounce water bottles and pump them while you run in place.
